Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Gets Exclusive SDCC Poster

A Mondo poster for the highly anticipated PlayStation 5 game Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be available exclusively at San Diego Comic-Con 2023.

Collider has exclusively revealed Mondo’s SDCC poster for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which comes from artist Tomer Hanuka. The limited edition poster shows Peter Parker (Yuri Lowenthal) and Miles Morales (Nadji Jeter) teaming up to fight the villainous Venom (Tony Todd). The poster will be available at Mondo’s site at SDCC on Thursday, July 20. It will cost $85, with only 215 units available for purchase.

Developed by Insomniac Games, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is slated to swing onto the PS5 this October. The game serves as a follow-up to the smash-hit 2018 title Marvel’s Spider-Man and its 2020 spin-off, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. To that end, both Miles and Peter will be playable in this new adventure.

Who is Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2?

2018’s Spider-Man heavily teased the introduction of Venom to Insomniac’s Marvel universe. The game’s conclusion revealed that the infamous symbiote was being used as an experimental means to treat the terminal illness afflicting Peter’s childhood best friend, Harry Osborn (Scott Porter). Unsurprisingly, it’s been confirmed that Eddie Brock will not be Venom in Spider-Man 2.

That said, Harry’s voice has also been recast for the sequel. Porter confirmed that he would not be reprising the role, and his replacement has yet to be announced. At any rate, Venom as a fully-realized entity will be voiced by the aforementioned Todd, a horror legend known for playing the titular role in the Candyman franchise.

Furthermore, Harry will not be the only one to come into contact with the Venom symbiote. Spider-Man 2 promises an adaptation of the fabled “Alien Costume Saga,” with Peter unwittingly bonding to the organism. This classic Spidey tale has previously been adapted in both animation and live-action.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 releases exclusively for the PS5 on Oct. 20.
