Square Enix Reveals the First Look at Spider-Man in Marvel’s Avengers

Spider-Man’s arrival in Marvel’s Avengers is still a few weeks away, but Square Enix is already rolling out the welcome mat for the friendly neighborhood webslinger. Ahead of his first appearance in the game later this month, the official Avengers Twitter account has released new key art for the upcoming “With Great Power Hero Event,” which finally reveals the studio’s design for Peter Parker’s trademark costume. Additionally, a follow-up tweet confirms that Square Enix is releasing a new trailer for “With Great Power” tomorrow via IGN. In his first Avengers mission, Spidey will fight alongside Earth’s Mightiest Heroes against AIM, which has discovered a way to make its Synthoid army unstoppable. Peter will also form a “tentative friendship” with Ms. Marvel and Black Widow. Regardless, we still don’t know if he plans on sticking around as an official member of the team.

Square Enix previously confirmed that Avengers takes place in its own universe, so it’s no wonder Peter’s costume looks nothing like his Spider-Man PS4 outfit. If anything, it more closely resembles the classic suit from the character’s early MCU appearances, right down to the linear patterns on the blue parts. Although the iconic spider emblem definitely takes up more space on his chest.

Spider-Man will officially join the Avengers character roster on November 30 as a PlayStation exclusive.

What do you think of the design for Spidey’s costume? Are you excited to watch the new trailer tomorrow? Let us know in the comment section below!
