Marvel’s Avengers Adds Black Panther’s MCU Costume

Earlier this month, Marvel’s Avengers finally added Black Panther to its ranks in the new War for Wakanda story expansion. The DLC also introduced gamers to Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics’ unique vision of the hero’s technologically-advanced domain. Now, the studios have added a new Black Panther skin to the Avengers marketplace inspired by the suit that Chadwick Boseman wore in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Check out the official announcement below.

The addition of the new costume also comes on the heels of the one-year anniversary of Boseman’s death from colon cancer. The suit closely resembles the one his character began wearing in the Black Panther movie in 2018. T’Challa also wore this costume in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, which marked Boseman’s final live-action appearance in the MCU.

War for Wakanda has Christopher Judge taking on the role of T’Challa in a new story revolving around his long-running feud with Ulysses Klaue. The conflict also leads to a team-up with the Avengers, who discover corrupted vibranium in other parts of the world. By the story’s end, T’Challa becomes a full-fledged member of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

This isn’t the first time that Crystal Dynamics has added bonus costumes inspired by the Avengers’ MCU counterparts. The studio has previously released new skins for Captain America, Hawkeye, Iron Man, and Hulk based on their big-screen appearances. More recently, they also added Natasha Romanoff’s white tactical suit from Black Widow.

Black Panther: War for Wakanda is now available to Marvel’s Avengers players everywhere.
