It’s been almost a full week since Sony unleashed its Playstation 5 on the masses, and many players have picked up Spider-Man: Miles Morales as their launch title of choice. The game is a hit with fans who loved the original Spider-Man PS4. But there’s a flipside to this that’s both relentlessly frustrating and absolutely hysterical.
A few days after Spider-Man: Miles Morales hit stores, social media was flooded with videos showcasing a few of the game’s bugs. Apparently, when players collide with certain objects, they run the risk of actually turning into those objects. The possibilities appear to be endless, ranging from a brick to a block of snow to a street lamp. One clip in particular shows Miles becoming “Spider-Trash,” which sounds like a J. Jonah Jameson insult come to life. Another shows Twitch user Froste swinging through Manhattan as both a rack of t-shirts and the front of a house. Froste’s infectious laughter makes it all the more amusing.

Insomniac Games has yet to address these technical issues or announce that some kind of patch is in the works. Regardless, the glitches haven’t stopped the glowing reviews from pouring in. Critics and gamers alike have hailed Miles Morales as a worthy successor to Spider-Man PS4, praising everything from the enhanced graphics to the nuanced storytelling. Earlier today, Nadji Jeter also landed a nomination at this year’s Game Awards for his performance as Miles.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales is now available for PS4 and PS5.
