Way back in 2010, right around the time that Universal was premiering Scott Pilgrim vs. The World in theaters, Ubisoft dropped a video game tie-in that perfectly captured the spirit of both Edgar Wright’s film and Bryan Lee O’Malley’s original comic. The game was released digitally for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, but it was delisted since 2014. But during today’s Ubisoft Forward event, the studio announced that it’s bringing back Scott Pilgrim in all his two-dimensional glory. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition will arrive this holiday season.
The game was presented as a side-scrolling beat ‘em up and featured character designs hearkening back to O’Malley’s classic illustrations. It was speculated that its sudden disappearance from digital platforms was the result of an expired license. Regardless, O’Malley recently tweeted that Ubisoft had been in contact with him. Wright also teased Ubisoft’s announcement earlier today.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition includes the base game, which lets players control Scott, Ramona Flowers, and Scott’s Sex Bob-omb bandmates Kim Pine and Stephen Stills in a story that loosely adapts the original graphic novels. It also collects two DLC packs featuring Wallace Wells and Knives Chau.
