In just a few months, Marvel’s Avengers will bring Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to every major video game console. However, PlayStation 4 owners have the added bonus of getting to play the game before anyone else. When the first trailer for Marvel’s Avengers premiered at E3 last year, Square Enix announced that anyone who pre-orders the game for PS4 will have early access to its Beta Program. Now, the studio has finally revealed when the program will get underway.
Via the game’s official Twitter page, Square Enix has shared plans for another Marvel’s Avengers War Table presentation later this month. This will be followed by the release of the game’s beta to players who pre-ordered Marvel’s Avengers for PS4 on August 7. The following week, the studio will open up the beta to those who pre-ordered the game for Xbox and PC. Finally, open beta access will be available for all consoles on August 21. It seems likely that Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics will use the War Table to preview the beta for gamers. Creative Director Shaun Escayg has teased (via IGN) that players will be able to sample a variety of Marvel’s Avengers’ features. These include the story campaign, co-op missions, and hero and world progression. Additionally, gamers can explore War Zones and Drop Zones.
Marvel’s Avengers will hit stores on September 4.
