Writer Teases Ms. Marvel’s Connection to M.O.D.O.K. in Marvel’s Avengers

Although she has yet to debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it seems that Ms. Marvel will play a key role in Marvel’s Avengers. Square Enix’s upcoming video game will feature Kamala Khan as one of the primary characters in the game. In a recent interview with IGN, writer Shaun Escayg revealed Kamala’s link with M.O.D.O.K., who seems the main villain thus far to lock horns with the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

“If we had the heroine and our villain both at A-Day, one infected by the Terrigen Mist, one injured by the Terrigen Blast, how would they both see this world?” he asks. “So, a heroine who thinks, ‘No, the Avengers empathy and humanity and subjectivity and ability to embrace differences and know what their differences are, or even recognize them, is why they are human and therefore the best protectors for humanity.'”

“And then a villain that feels absolutely not,” he added. “These are their weaknesses, their subjectivity in their power is uncontrollable. They’re ruled by their emotions.”

Marvel’s Avengers takes place in a world where the Avengers disbanded after the apparent death of Captain America. In this world, the Avengers’ zealousness to protect humanity resulted in a lot of people being hurt. From the freshly released trailer, it seems that Kamala will be the one to bring the Avengers back together. Except for Ms. Marvel, other primary characters in the game include Thor, Hulk/Bruce Banner, as well as Black Widow, and Iron Man.
