EA Hints That Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Will Be a New Franchise

Six months ago, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order debuted to positive reviews and impressive sales figures. However, fans are already eager to see what’s next for Cal Kestis and his new companions. EA and Respawn have yet to formally announce a sequel. But according to EA CEO Andrew Wilson, they are definitely considering the potential for future installments.

Via NME, Wilson gushed over Fallen Order’s success during a recent earnings call. He also appeared to confirm that a sequel is in the works.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is one of the breakout titles of the last several years,” said Wilson. “More than 10 million unique players have joined the game since launch, a rare achievement for a first title in an entirely new franchise. It’s a meticulously well-crafted game, and it continues to give fans a deeply engaging and original Star Wars experience.”

Fallen Order’s ending certainly left things open for Cal, Cere Junda, Greez Dritus, and BD-1 to pursue more adventures throughout the galaxy. Regardless, a follow up is probably years away and will most likely arrive on next-gen consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X. In the meantime, players can take advantage of the new Fallen Order DLC that was released in honor of Star Wars Day earlier this week. The update lets players try out new combat challenges and unlock new cosmetics. The DLC also includes an Inquisitor skin and a red lightsaber for Cal.
