Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 Officially Introduces the Marvel Knights Next Month

The first batch of downloadable content for Nintendo’s Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is finally set to make its debut. And things are about to take a very dark turn.

Originally announced last month, the debut pack, titled Curse of the Vampire, will arrive on September 30. It will introduce the Marvel Knights characters, including Blade, Morbius, the Punisher and Moon Knight.

The pack will also debut two new modes to the game. Full details are below.

“Players will step into the boots of the urban vigilantes known as The Punisher, Blade, Moon Knight, and Morbius, as the Marvel Knights join the alliance. These playable characters are part of DLC Pack 1 included with the Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order Expansion Pass, which will be available on September 30th and also includes a new mode. In Gauntlet Mode, up to four players take on an intense series of co-op challenges in rapid succession to earn rewards. Players can find out how long they can last in Endurance Mode and see how high they make it on the online ranking board, then discover a mysterious new Infinity Rift.”

Nintendo also confirmed some additional free content for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 as well. The game gets alternative outfits for all playable characters via a series of free updates, starting on August 30th. New costumes for Spider-Man, Hulk, and Captain Marvel will kick these off.

As noted during last month’s San Diego Comic-Con panel, Cyclops and Colossus will also join the character roster as free additions at the end of the month.

The Curse of the Vampire expansion is available as part of the Expansion Pass, which sells for $19.99. It also includes expansions featuring the Fantastic Four and X-Men, expected in the months ahead.
