Marvel Super Heroes Arcade1up Gets a Limited Edition

Earlier this summer, Arcade1up confirmed that it would bring more fan favorites to its line of affordable arcade-to-home releases. Among them was a machine containing three Capcom-licensed Marvel games, including Marvel Superheroes, X-Men: Children of the Atom and The Punisher. But it appears that one release just isn’t enough to contain these titles, as a new limited edition model is on the way.

The Marvel Super Heroes Arcade Cabinet Special Edition is currently available for pre-order here. It’s going for $399.00, and the limited edition will only have 8,000 units available. As with the original model, it will come with the three aforementioned games. However, there are some noticeable differences with this model, which commemorates Marvel’s 80th anniversary. It will ship this November.

This replica will include official Sanwa joysticks and buttons, similar to Capcom’s original arcade machines. Any devoted arcade fan will tell you how important it is to have these parts on any machine. Additionally, it will also have a light-up marquee. That means when you turn the machine on, it’ll light up the nameplate along with the screen. That means it will resemble an arcade machine even more than the original Arcade1up model.

Finally, the limited edition will have a devoted “riser,” which will bring the machine’s height up about a foot. Fans can get a look at this design in the included gallery. Its artwork is similar to that of the original arcade game, with a number of Marvel characters pictured. The game will also come with a Marvel certificate of authenticity, as well as dual speakers for stereo sound and custom cabinet trim.

Arcade1up also has other devoted all-in-one machines coming this year, including Star Wars and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games.
