When it makes its debut on Nintendo Switch next month, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will have an impressive roster. The game features over 35 playable characters, including favorites like Iron Man, Captain America, Deadpool, Wolverine, and Spider-Man. And a new trailer introduced even more heroes coming to the game, like Elsa Bloodstone, Ghost Rider, and Elektra.
But Nintendo and the developers at Team Ninja aren’t done yet. At the conclusion of its presentation, they confirmed that even more characters are coming to the game, via an expansion pass. This includes favorites from the Fantastic Four, X-Men and Marvel Knights franchises. That leaves an interesting question: which characters will be the next heroes added to the lineup?

Pre-Order Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 Hopefuls
Here are the twelve characters we'd love to see as DLC in the upcoming Nintendo Switch brawler.
-
Cloak and Dagger
The staff had a hard time choosing between Cloak and Dagger for the Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 team. So in the end, both deserve a nomination.
Both characters bring awesome powers to the table. Cloak enables teleportation, shadow and darkness in the best ways possible. Meanwhile, Dagger uses the powers of light the best she can.
-
Jessica Jones
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 includes Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist in its roster. But it’s just not a Defenders party if it doesn’t include Jessica Jones!
Jessica's superpowers make her an ideal addition to the Marvel Knights DLC. On top of that, it would give players an excuse to reform the MCU Defenders within the game!
-
Cable
With Deadpool featured among the cast in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, it’s probably just a matter of time before Cable makes his debut on the roster.
As previous Ultimate Alliance games have proven, Cable is very effective both up close and from afar. For that matter, we'd love to see Domino as well!
-
Howard the Duck
Laugh all you want, but Howard the Duck would make a cool addition to the Marvel Ultimate Alliance universe.
With a Tommy gun by his side, Howard could gun down enemies with the greatest of ease. And his wisecracks would play right along with Deadpool’s sense of humor.
-
She Hulk
This Glamazonian should be able to have just as much fun in the Marvel Ultimate Alliance universe as Hulk does.
She-Hulk has been in the series before. And with her superhuman strength, speed and stamina, she’s due for a welcome return.
-
Silver Surfer
With the Fantastic Four pack confirmed for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, we already know the four main characters are a lock. But what about Norrid Radd?
The Silver Surfer would make a great addition to the roster, with his impressive array of power and speed. And maybe he could even use his surfboard as a projectile.
-
The Punisher
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 has confirmed Marvel Knights DLC on the way. But a few of its characters, including Black Panther and Daredevil, are already in the game.
That paves the way for Frank Castle, aka the Punisher, to make his debut. With a fair amount of bullets to spray and grenades to drop, the Punisher can unleash a major amount of damage on almost any enemy.
-
Moon Knight
This mysterious hero has appeared in a number of Marvel games in the past. So why shouldn’t he get a turn in Nintendo’s brawl-a-thon?
His fighting skills make him a perfect ally for pushing back against the Black Order.
-
Gambit
Considering that an X-Men pack is on the way – and most of the general heroes are confirmed – we're pretty sure that Gambit is coming to the party.
Utilizing kinetic energy to turn ordinary objects into explosive items, this Cajun hero is a force to be reckoned with.
Between his ranged attacks and up-close techniques with his staff, he’s an ideal addition to any party, mon Cherie.
-
Rogue
Where Gambit goes, can Rogue be far behind? She could easily become one of the most unpredictable characters in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3. With one touch (or kiss, as Capcom’s Versus games have shown), she could steal abilities and turn them on her opponents.
Rogue could even siphon powers from an ally and team up with them for twice the impact.
-
Phoenix/Jean Grey
Jean Grey could be a bit too powerful for the likes of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, thanks to her Phoenix abilities.
Still, it would be a blast to play such a powerful character. With Jean added to the mix, players would be able to use exciting flame attacks at will.
She could even team up with Wolverine or Cyclops for even more devastating techniques. Speaking of which…
-
Cyclops
While Scott Summers is included in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3– based on the previous trailers – he hasn’t been confirmed as a playable character yet.
If Nintendo were smart, they would change this by adding him to the X-Men DLC. He’s a great balanced character overall. His up-close attacks are ideal for taking down enemies.
As for long-range attacks…his laser optics really speak for themselves.
