A new rumor suggests that Sandman may have a role in the upcoming Spider-Noir series.
Spider-Noir is a forthcoming series from Amazon MGM Studios that will see Nicolas Cage play a live-action Spider-Man Noir. Cage previously voiced the character in 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
It has been confirmed that Lamorne Morris is playing Robbie Robertson in the show, while Brendan Gleeson is believed to be playing a New York mob boss.
Who is rumored to be playing Sandman in Spider-Noir?
Jack Huston has also been cast in the show. According to an article published by Deadline in September 2024, Huston is “believed to be playing a bodyguard.” A recent report from Jeff Sneider’s The InSneider, however, suggests that he could actually be playing Sandman/Flint Marko.
Sneider only calls this a “rumor” at this time and nothing has been confirmed by Amazon MGM Studios, so the news should be taken with a grain of salt.
Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, Sandman first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1963’s The Amazing Spider-Man #4. The character, who has often switched between a villain and an anti-hero, has the ability to manipulate sand and rock to transform his body. He was previously played by Thomas Haden Church in 2007’s Spider-Man 3; a role he then reprised in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Huston has starred in television shows such as Boardwalk Empire, Mr. Mercedes, Manhunt: Deadly Games, Fargo, Mayfair Witches, and Expats. His filmography includes 2010’s The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, 2013’s American Hustle, 2016’s Ben-Hur, 2019’s The Irishman, and 2021’s House of Gucci, among other titles.
A premiere date for Spider-Noir, which comes from showrunners Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot, has not yet been announced. It is known that the show will first debut on MGM+ in the United States before coming to Amazon Prime Video at a later date.
