Marvel TV Head Brad Winderbaum has commented on Mephisto’s potential appearance in Ironheart. It is one of Marvel’s highly anticipated upcoming Disney+ series for 2025. After being put into production back in 2022, the show hit a few snags and got pushed to June 2025. Over time, several rumors hit the internet, with one involving Mephisto. Now, Winderbaum has responded to whether the rumor is true or not.
Brad Winderbaum comments on Mephisto rumors for Ironheart
After being theorized by many to show up in WandaVision, Mephisto’s existence in the MCU was finally confirmed by its sequel series, Agatha All Along. But, the demon still didn’t make his live-action debut. However, rumors and reports dating back to late 2022 have suggested that Mephisto will appear in Ironheart. Deadline even reported that Sacha Baron Cohen could be playing the character.
But, responding to the long-running rumor, Winderbaum gave absolutely nothing away. Speaking to Brandon Davis, Jenna Anderson, Jamie Jirak, and Aaron Perine on Comicbook.com’s Phase Hero Podcast, he was asked about Mephisto being in Ironheart. He dodged the question by simply replying, “I wish I could tell you.”
This neither confirms nor denies whether Mephisto will appear in Ironheart. However, one could take it as an implication that Winderbaum was trying to hide a Mephisto spoiler for Ironheart or the MCU overall.
Even though he wasn’t willing to comment on Mephisto’s involvement, he did reveal multiple other details about Ironheart. For instance, when asked about how Riri Williams’ Ironheart suit was created, he confirmed that the show’s production was very similar to the first Iron Man movie. As a result, Dominique Thorne was put in a physical suit, which was also spotted in leaked set photos.
Besides Thorne, Ironheart is set to star Anthony Ramos, who is rumored to play The Hood and has a connection to Mephisto. Additionally, Alden Ehrenreich is said to play Obadiah Stane’s son, Ezekiel “Zeke” Stane.
Ironheart will debut on Disney+ on June 24, 2025.
