James Gunn Shares Mysterious Peacemaker Season 2 Image: ‘Who Might This Be?’

James Gunn has shared a mysterious image from Peacemaker Season 2.

Peacemaker premiered in January 2022. The series stars John Cena as Christopher Smith/Peacemaker, Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase/Vigilante, and more.

The season was renewed for a second season; however, Peacemaker Season 2 will be set in Gunn and Peter Safran’s forthcoming DCU while the first season was set within the DCEU, which concluded in 2023 with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

Gunn has now shared an image teasing a new character in Peacemaker Season 2. Gunn’s caption reads, “Who might this be?” Those commenting online are predicting that it could be the DCU introduction of Apache Chief, though this has not been confirmed at this time.

What else do we know about Peacemaker Season 2?

Plot details for the new season of Peacemaker remain under wraps at this time. Along with the aforementioned cast, the show’s next entry will star Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Steve Agee as John Economos, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Sol Rodríguez as Sasha Bordeaux, and Tim Meadows as Langston Fleury. David Denman has also been cast in an undisclosed role.

Production on Peacemaker Season 2 began in April 2024. Gunn directed three episodes of the new season, while other directors include Greg Mottola and Peter Sollett. Gunn wrote all eight episodes.

A premiere date for Peacemaker Season 2 has not yet been officially announced, though it is expected to premiere on Max at some point in 2025. Prior to that, Gunn and Safran’s DCU will officially kick off this coming December with Creature Commandos, the voice cast of which also includes Grillo as Rick Flag Sr. Gunn’s Superman movie then flies into theaters in July 2025, while several other DCU projects are currently in various stages of development.
