In a 2021 chat with the Hollywood Reporter, Jac Schaeffer expressed her thoughts on the fan theories surrounding the finale of WandaVision. At that time, she asserted that she had not made any promises nor had any intentions of including a big bad male villain. She said, “So as far as those theories, I got a little nervous, but even at this point, I don’t want Mephisto or Magneto.”

However, in a recent conversation with the outlet, she was asked whether she was subjected to some convincing to get the Mephisto reference in Agatha All Along.

To this, Jac Schaeffer said, “I wouldn’t say that I needed convincing. It was a conversation with executive producer Mary Livanos, Brad [Winderbaum], and Kevin [Feige], but it is a mention that is larger than me and this show.”

She further stated, “It is not about me bristling or having any kind of a reaction or agenda, mostly because that type of fevered discourse that is very, very rooted in the comics is not as interesting to me as the current story being told in the series at hand.”
