Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 Update Given, Ewan McGregor Wants More Anakin Skywalker Flashbacks

Ewan McGregor has given an update about a potential Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2.

Obi-Wan Kenobi premiered on Disney+ in May 2022. The six-episode series, which is set after the events of 2005’s Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith, saw McGregor reprise his role as the titular Jedi.

Hayden Christensen also reprised his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in Obi-Wan Kenobi, while the cast also included Rupert Friend as the Grand Inquisitor, Sung Kang as the Fifth Brother, Moses Ingram as Reva/Sevander/Third Sister, and Vivien Lyra Blair as Leia Organa.

Speaking at the Los Angeles Comic Con 2024 event, McGregor said that Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 was still being “explored” at this time.

What did Ewan McGregor say about a potential Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2?

When asked what he’d still like to do in the Star Wars universe, McGregor said, via a video shared on YouTube by IGN Movie Trailers, “I’d quite like to wear the armor, I was speaking to someone earlier, from The Clone Wars. I think that would be something I would enjoy. I was figuring it out with someone in the autograph queue earlier today, that’d mean I’d have to be younger. But they can do — Maybe just trim the beard a little bit or something and it’ll be fine? Otherwise, it’s the de-aging, having the dots on your face for three months. I’ll do it, I don’t care.”

McGregor noted that donning the Clone Wars armor and playing a potentially younger version of Obi-Wan could allow him and Christensen to “really get back together again.”

McGregor further added, “Between the end of the Obi-Wan series and when Alec Guinness is Obi-Wan Kenobi, there’s got to be another few stories in there.”

At this time, Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 has not officially been confirmed by Lucasfilm. The first season of the Star Wars series is currently streaming on Disney+.
