Spider-Noir: Nicolas Cage Spider-Man Series Adds Jack Huston to Cast

Jack Huston has joined the cast of Spider-Noir.

Spider-Noir is an upcoming MGM+ and Amazon Prime Video live-action series that will see Nicolas Cage play Spider-Man Noir. Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Abraham Popoola, and Li Jun Li have also been tapped to star in the series.

Cage originally voiced the character in animated form in 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Per Deadline, Huston has now joined Spider-Noir as a series regular. He’s believed to be playing a bodyguard, though no other details surrounding his character are available at this time.

Huston is known for playing Richard Harrow in Boardwalk Empire, Lasher in Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches, and David Starr in Expats. His filmography includes 2010’s The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, 2013’s American Hustle, 2016’s Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, 2019’s The Irishman, 2020’s Antebellum, 2021’s House of Gucci, and more.

He recently made his feature film directorial debut with Day of the Fight, which premiered at the Venice International Film Festival in September 2023. While no nationwide release date has yet been announced, it stars Michael Pitt, Joe Pesci, John Magaro, Ron Perlman, and Steve Buscemi.

What else do we know about Spider-Noir?

“The series tells the story of an aging and down-on-his-luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life as the city’s one and only superhero,” a description of the show reads.

Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot are Spider-Noir’s co-showrunners. They also serve as executive producers alongside Harry Bradbeer, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal. Bradbeer is directing the first two episodes.

A release date for Spider-Noir, which is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, has not yet been announced. It will first debut on MGM+ before coming to Amazon Prime Video globally at a later date.
