Creature Commandos Release Date Set for DC Universe Debut Series

Warner Bros. Discovery has officially set the Creature Commandos release date, confirming when the upcoming animated series that kicks off the DC Universe will arrive.

When is the Creature Commandos release date?

Creature Commandos will arrive on Max beginning on December 5, 2024. The series will air weekly episodes, with its seven-episode run coming to an end on January 16, 2025. Alongside the release date, new images for the series were also released, which you can see in full below:

The project also has the special designation of being the first DC-based project to release since James Gunn and Peter Safran took over as co-CEOs of DC Studios in 2022.

“Creature Commandos tracks a secret team of incarcerated monsters recruited for missions deemed too dangerous for humans,” the logline for the series reads. “When all else fails… they’re your last, worst option.”

The upcoming series is based on the DC Comics team created by J.M. DeMatteis and Pat Broderick. The series’ voice cast includes Steve Agee as Economos, Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana, Anya Chalotra as Circe, Zoe Chao as Nina Mazursky, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Sean Gunn as GI Robot and Weasel, David Harbour as Frankenstein, Alan Tudyk as Dr. Phosphorus, Indira Varma as The Bride, and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.

Other planned series that will be set in the DCU following Creature Commandos include Peacemaker Season 2, Waller, Lanterns, Paradise Lost, Booster Gold, and an animated Blue Beetle series. The next DCU project that’s been announced following Creature Commandos will be Gunn’s Superman movie starring David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, and Nicholas Hoult. Superman will be released in United States theaters on July 11, 2025.
