New The Penguin Poster Sees Colin Farrell’s Batman Villain Plotting Gotham’s Takeover

A new poster for HBO’s The Penguin has been released.

The Penguin is a new limited series that is set in the same world as 2022’s The Batman. Premiering on HBO and Max this coming September, it stars Colin Farrell as the titular Batman villain.

What do we know about The Penguin?

“Starring Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb (aka The Penguin), the DC Studios series continues filmmaker Matt Reeves’ The Batman epic crime saga that began with Warner Bros. Pictures’ global blockbuster The Batman,” the official logline reads. “Developed by showrunner Lauren LeFranc, the series centers on the character played by Farrell in the film.”

Along with Farrell, the series stars Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone, Rhenzy Feliz as Victor Aguilar, Michael Kelly as Johnny Viti, Shohreh Aghdashloo as Nadia Maroni, Deirdre O’Connell as Francis Cobb, Clancy Brown as Salvatore Maroni, James Madio as Milos Grapa, Scott Cohen as Luca Falcone, Michael Zegen as Alberto Falcone, Carmen Ejogo as Eve Karlo, and Theo Rossi as Dr. Julian Rush.

The Penguin will premiere on Thursday, September 19, at 9 p.m. on HBO and on Max. HBO will re-air the series premiere several times over the following weekend, including on Sunday, September 22, at 9 p.m.

Reeves serves as an executive producer on the series alongside Dylan Clark, Farrell, LeFranc, Craig Zobel, and Bill Carraro. Zobel also directs the first three episodes of the season, while Daniel Pipski serves as an executive producer.

New episodes of The Penguin will continue to be released on Sunday nights at 9 p.m. The series will have eight episodes in total.

The Batman, meanwhile, is currently streaming on Max. A sequel is currently in the works and is expected to be released in United States theaters on October 2, 2026.
