Who stars in The Penguin alongside Colin Farrell?

In addition to Farrell, The Penguin also stars Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone, Rhenzy Feliz as Victor Aguilar, Michael Kelly as Johnny Viti, Shohreh Aghdashloo as Nadia Maroni, Deirdre O’Connell as Francis Cobb, Clancy Brown as Salvatore Maroni, James Madio as Milos Grapa, Scott Cohen as Luca Falcone, Michael Zegen as Alberto Falcone, Carmen Ejogo as Eve Karlo, and Theo Rossi as Dr. Julian Rush.

Mark Strong, who notably played Dr. Thaddeus Sivana in the Shazam! films, is also expected to appear in the series in an undisclosed role.

The Penguin was developed by showrunner Lauren LeFranc. LeFranc also serves as an executive producer alongside Farrell, The Batman’s Matt Reeves, Dylan Clark, Craig Zobel, Bill Carraro, and Daniel Pipski. Zobel directs the first three episodes of the eight-episode limited series.

Production on The Penguin began in March 2023; however, filming was delayed a few months later due to the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) strikes. Production resumed in November and then wrapped in February 2024.

The Penguin will be followed by The Batman Part II, which will see Robert Pattinson return to play the Caped Crusader. Whether or not Farrell will also return for The Batman Part II, which will be released in October 2026, remains unclear at this time. Reeves is directing the sequel and is co-writing the script with Mattson Tomlin.

The Penguin premieres on Max this coming September.
