Nicolas Cage will star in Amazon Prime Video’s live-action Spider-Man Noir series.
Per Variety, Cage has signed on to reprise his role as Spider-Man Noir in a new live-action MGM+ and Amazon Prime Video series.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have Nicolas Cage starring in this series! Amazon MGM Studios’ Vernon Sanders added, “Expanding the Marvel universe with Noir is a uniquely special opportunity and we are honored to bring this series to our global Prime Video customers. The extremely talented Nicolas Cage is an ideal choice for our new superhero and the accomplished producing team with Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Amy Pascal, and the incredible team at Sony is dedicated to expanding this franchise in the most authentic way.”
What else do we know about the Spider-Man Noir series?
News broke that Amazon was developing a live-action Spider-Man Noir series in February 2023. It will be set in an alternate 1930s New York City and focus on an “older, grizzled superhero.”
Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot will serve as showrunners and executive producers on the Spider-Man Noir series.
Cage notably voiced Spider-Man Noir in 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The character made a small appearance at the end of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse; however, Spider-Man Noir didn’t have any lines in the 2023 sequel. Whether or not Cage will return for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse remains to be seen.
The Spider-Man Noir series does not yet have a release date.
