DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has given a new Peacemaker Season 2 update, with the filmmaker being enthusiastic about the episode he’s currently working on.
Gunn spoke about his stress level in regards to writing the new season of Peacemaker on Threads. Though he was a “sleepless ball of stress” a few weeks back, prep is now “rolling along” and he’s feeling good.

When asked where he’s at in writing Peacemaker Season 2, Gunn revealed that he’s partway through the eighth episode, which he describes as “a banger.” You can see that post below:
The first season of Peacemaker, which serves as a spin-off to 2021’s The Suicide Squad, debuted in January 2022. The series stars John Cena as Christopher Smith/Peacemaker, Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase/Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Chukwudi Iwuji as Clemson Murn, Steve Agee as John Economos, and Robert Patrick as August Smith/White Dragon.
When does the new DC Universe begin?
With Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom marking the end of the DCEU, Gunn and Safran’s DC Universe kicks off later this year with an animated Creature Commandos series. Following that, Superman: Legacy, which is written and directed by Gunn, flies into United States theaters on July 11, 2025.
