One of Daredevil‘s most iconic foes will apparently be returning in the new series, as Bullseye seems to be set to make an appearance.
ComicBook.com has reported that Wilson Bethel will be coming back to once again play Bullseye/Benjamin Poindexter in the Disney+ Daredevil series. The outlet states that it’s not entirely clear how major his role will be but that the fan-favorite antagonist will indeed return in some fashion.
The character first appeared in the third season of Netflix’s Daredevil, where he served as an antagonist to the titular hero and, at one point, disguised himself as Daredevil while wreaking havoc. The end of the third season saw Bullseye receive experimental back surgery, ending with his own eye featuring a bullseye pattern.
Initially announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, Daredevil: Born Again will see Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio reprise their roles from the Netflix series as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Fisk.
The series was originally intended to premiere in spring 2024; however, it was delayed because of the Hollywood strikes. Upon reviewing the footage that was shot prior to the strikes, Marvel decided to take the series in a different direction and parted ways with showrunners Chris Ord and Matt Corman.
Who is the showrunner for Daredevil: Born Again?
Dario Scardapane now serves as the showrunner for Daredevil: Born Again, while Moon Knight’s Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead were both tapped to direct as lead directors. Additionally, Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson are both reportedly set to reprise their roles as Karen Page and Franklin “Foggy” Nelson in Daredevil: Born Again.
