Ahsoka Season 2 is officially in development from Dave Filoni and Lucasfilm.
Per StarWars.com, Dave Filoni is currently developing a second season of Disney+’s Ahsoka. While no further details on the project were given at the time, the news comes hot off the heels of Lucasfilm’s announcement that a theatrical The Mandalorian & Grogu movie is in the works from director Jon Favreau.
Lucasfilm has hinted another season of Ahsoka may be coming before. According to an article published by Deadline, Lucasfilm was heavily discussing developing Ahsoka Season 2 right after the season one finale aired in October 2023.
Rosario Dawson, who plays the titular Star Wars character, also told Empire Magazine in May 2023, “I’m absolutely putting it out into the universe. We’re joking about it, but I’m manifesting it because I feel like I helped Dave manifest this role. So I’m ready. I’m excited. I’m willing. I got my ice-packs ready to go for Season 2 and beyond! I would not be mad at that.”
The first season of Disney+’s Ahsoka debuted in 2023
The first two episodes of Ahsoka premiered on Disney+ in August 2023. Created and written b by Filoni, the series is set after the events of 1983’s Return of the Jedi and follows Anakin Skywalker’s former Jedi Padawan as she investigates new, dangerous threats.
In addition to Dawson, Ahsoka Season 1 starred Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, and David Tennant as the voice of Huyang. Filoni, Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Carrie Beck, and Colin Wilson all serve as executive producers on the series.
Ahsoka Season 1 is currently streaming on Disney+. The second series does not yet have a release date.
