The full episode titles for What If…? Season 2 confirm a Marvel 1602 entry is happening.

Disney+’s Instagram account shared the full titles for all nine episodes of What If…? Season 2, which premieres on December 22, 2023.

The season’s eighth episode is titled “What If…The Avengers Assembled in 1602?”. In 2003, Neil Gaiman, Andy Kubert, Richard Isanove, and Scott McKowen created an eight-issue Marvel Comics series titled Marvel 1602. The series, which is set in an alternate reality apart from Earth-616, introduces Elizabethan versions of various fan-favorite Marvel characters, including Thor, the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Daredevil, and more.

The titles for the other eight episodes are “What If…Nebula Joined The Nova Corps?”, “What If…Peter Quill Attacked Earth’s Mightiest Heroes?”, “What If…Happy Hogan Saved Christmas?”, “What If…Iron Man Crashed Into The Grandmaster?”, “What If…Captain Carter Fought The Hydra Stomper?”, “What If…Kahhori Reshaped The World?”, “What If…Hela Found The Ten Rings?”, and “What If…Strange Supreme Intervened?”.

“The Watcher continues the journey as our guide through the vast multiverse, introducing brand-new and familiar faces throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe,” the official synopsis for What If…? Season 2 reads. “The animated anthology series questions, revisits and twists classic Marvel Cinematic moments with an incredible voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their iconic roles.”

Jeffrey Wright is returning to voice the Watcher in What If…? Season 2, while Bryan Andrews directs all nine episodes apart from the first one, which is directed by Stephen Franck. Writers involved with the second season include Matthew Chauncey, A.C. Bradley, and Ryan Little.

“What If…Nebula Joined The Nova Corps?” premieres on Disney+ on December 22, 2023. The series will continue to debut one new episode a day for nine days in a row.
