Marvel’s What If? Season 2 Trailer Previews Multiversal Cameos, Reveals Release Date

The first trailer for the second season of Marvel StudiosWhat If…? has been released.

Included in the What If…? Season 2 trailer are appearances from characters such as Ant-Man, Black Panther, Nebula, Doctor Strange, and many more. Overseeing all the multiversal action is Jeffrey Wright’s The Watcher, who narrates, “I don’t do sequels. Normally. But things have got a little twisted in the multiverse.” The first episode of the new season hits Disney+ on December 22, 2023.

The footage also offers a better look at Kahhori, a new character who will be featured in an episode that explores what would happen if the Tesseract landed in the Haudenosaunee Confederacy prior to the colonization of America.

What is What If…? Season 2 about?

“Season two of What If…? continues the journey as The Watcher guides viewers through the vast multiverse, introducing brand new and familiar faces throughout the MCU,” the official synopsis reads. “The series questions, revisits and twists classic Marvel Cinematic moments with an incredible voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their iconic roles. Featuring fan-favorite characters this season like Nebula, Hela and Happy Hogan, episodes are directed by executive producer Bryan Andrews with executive producer AC Bradley as head writer.”

The first episode of Marvel’s What If…? Season 2 releases on December 22, 2023, on Disney+. New episodes will continue to drop daily on Disney+ over the following eight days, with the season finale then airing on December 30, 2023.

What If…?’s first season premiered on Disney+ in August 2021. Consisting of nine episodes, the season explored alternate realities of Marvel’s multiverse where Peggy Carter takes the super-soldier serum, T’Challa is rescued by the Ravagers rather than Peter Quill, the Avengers become infected with a zombie virus, and more.
