Gen V: Prime Video Renews The Boys’ Spin-off for Season 2

Gen V is getting a second season from Prime Video.

According to Variety, Gen V has officially been renewed for a second season. The series’ first season is set to conclude on November 3, 2023, and will tie directly into The Boys’ upcoming fourth season. A release date for Gen V’s sophomore outing has not yet been set.

“Expanding the universe of The Boys with a series as bold as Gen V has been an incredible journey for us and our wonderful partners at Sony,” said Vernon Sanders, Amazon MGM Studios’ head of television. “From our first conversation with showrunners Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, along with Eric Kripke, Evan Goldberg, and Seth Rogen, we knew Gen V would push the boundaries. Their unapologetic approach is exactly what audiences love, and it has helped Gen V become the No. 1 series on Prime Video in over 130 countries. Gen V is Prime Video’s most acquisitive new Original series of 2023, and we’re excited that our incredible cast and crew are going to continue telling brave and bold stories from Gen ’ to our customers.”

What is Gen V about?

Developed by Craig Rosenberg, Goldberg, and Kripke, the first three episodes of Gen V’s first season premiered on Prime Video on September 29, 2023. Set in the same universe as The Boys, the series focuses on a group of college students attending a school specifically designed for superheroes, Godolkin University School.

“Set in the diabolical world of The Boys, Gen V expands the universe to Godolkin University, the prestigious superhero-only college where students train to be the next generation of heroes,” the official synopsis reads. “Beyond the typical college chaos of finding oneself and partying, these kids are facing explosive situations … literally.”

The series stars Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, and Shelley Conn.

The first five episodes of Gen V’s first season are currently streaming on Prime Video
