Lauren Schmidt-Hissrich, the showrunner for The Witcher, spoke about how book-accurate Season 3 will be compared to previous seasons.
During a set visit by a variety of international journalists, Schmidt-Hissrich discussed the topic of The Witcher Season 3’s accuracy to Andrzej Sapkowski’s Time of Contempt. She noted that the new season is “a much more direct adaptation” than the last.
“Season 3, especially on the heels of Season 2, is a much more direct adaptation,” Schmidt-Hissrich noted (via Collider.) “Again, just from a basic writing perspective, the book is so easily adaptable. And it really is … It can be broken down into big events.”
The upcoming third season of The Witcher will be Henry Cavill’s last, as the actor is set to move on from the series, with Liam Hemsworth replacing him in the role of Geralt of Rivia. Volume 1 of the new season is set to debut on Netflix on June 29, while Volume 2 will debut on July 27.
