Making of The Last of Us To Air After Sunday’s Season Finale

The critically-acclaimed first season of The Last of Us will come to an end with this weekend’s ninth episode. But after the season finale, HBO Max will air a special behind-the-scenes featurette titled Making of The Last of Us.

In the 30-second trailer for the special, the cast and creatives from the show will discuss how they adapted the beloved video game for television. The footage teases interviews with stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, along with showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. The featurette will also provide an inside look at some of the show’s signature moments, from the debut of the clickers in episode 2 to the epic invasion of the infected in episode 5.

The Last of Us has been a monster hit for HBO. The series continues to improve in viewership as the season progresses. The premiere became the second-most-watched debut in over a decade, with 4.7 million viewers. Last Sunday night, episode 8 became the show’s highest-watched episode, with 8.1 million viewers.

In the ninth and final episode of season 1, Joel and Ellie find themselves looking for the Fireflies near Salt Lake City. Joel believes that this group of Fireflies has the resources to develop a cure out of Ellie’s immunity.

The season 1 finale of The Last of Us airs on HBO and HBO Max this Sunday, March 12, at 9pm. Making of The Last of Us will air immediately after the episode on HBO Max.
