The Boys Spinoff Series Will Be Called Gen V

It’s safe to say that after The Boys season 3, there’s a lot fewer supes than there used to be. And Vought International certainly isn’t going to let that stop them from creating new “heroes” with Compound V. That’s something that will be explored in The Boys spinoff series, which finally has a name. Amazon Prime Video has announced that the show will be called Gen V. It’s set in a college run by Vought, which is supposed to prepare young heroes for the world ahead. But given supes’ large propensity for violence, it’s probably going to be a disaster waiting to happen.

To go along with the announcement, Gen V cast members Jaz Sinclair, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Lizze Broadway, Chance Perdomo, London Thor, Asa Germann, Maddie Phillips, and Derek Luh introduced themselves in the following video.

Shelley Conn, Sean Patrick Thomas, and Marco Pigossi will also star in the series. Prime Video has lined up Agent Carter veterans Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters to serve as co-showrunners. Garth Ennis, the co-creator of The Boys comic book series, will executive produce the spinoff series with Erik Kripke, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Fazekas, and Butters.

Kripke recently revealed that the spinoff series has almost finished filming its first season. Conceivably it could arrive later this year on Amazon Prime Video. But Gen V may also be held for 2023 to help tide fans over for The Boys season 4. The fourth season has yet to begin production.
