Obi-Wan Kenobi Episode 5 – What Did You Think?!

Warning: There are spoilers ahead for Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 5!

It’s no secret that Moses Ingram’s Reva has had a fairly divisive response among fans, and the actress has even received racist messages to the point that Lucasfilm felt the need to respond. The big question after the fifth episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi is simple: Did this installment change your mind about Reva? We want to know what the Superhero Hype community thinks. This post is a place for all of you to leave your own reviews, thoughts, or anything else you want to say about Obi-Wan Kenobi episode 5.

After confirming that Reva’s tracker in Lola has worked, Darth Vader promotes Reva to Grand Inquisitor. On Jabiim, Obi-Wan and Leia reunite with Haja Estree, the fake Jedi con man who is now wanted by the Empire. By Reva’s remote command, Lola sabotages the command structure and shuts off access to spaceport’s doors. With the Empire’s imminent arrival, Obi-Wan rallies the refugees and The Path operatives to seal themselves in the base in order to buy themselves time to escape.

However, the Empire’s assault makes quick work of their defenses. Obi-Wan stalls for time by requesting to negotiate with Reva. As he speaks with her, Obi-Wan realizes that Reva was a Youngling who witnessed Anakin Skywalker slaughter her friends at the Jedi Temple. That’s why she knows Vader is Anakin, and it also reveals her true motivation. She doesn’t want to serve Vader, she wants to kill him. Obi-Wan suggests that they team up, but Reva rejects his overture and cuts through the blast door.

In the ensuing firefight, several members of The Path are killed, including Obi-Wan’s friend, Tala. Dispirited, Obi-Wan hands his belongings to Haja, including a recorded message from Bail Organa that mentions Luke Skywalker. While Leia climbs through the vents and attempts to repair the door, Obi-Wan gives himself up to Reva and her forces. He once again tries to convince Reva to work with him, but she doesn’t take the bait. As soon as he is out of her sight, Obi-Wan disables his guards and escapes. Meanwhile, Leia restores Lola and fixes the door.

Vader finally arrives and forces his way into the compound. He enters the spaceport just as a ship takes off, and he uses the Force to bring it down. However, it was just a diversion, and Obi-Wan escapes with the refugees on another ship. As Vader seethes in rage, Reva tries to sneak up behind him and kill him. Unfortunately for Reva, she is no match for the Dark Lord of the Sith. Vader toys with Reva before ultimately impaling her with her own lightsabers, just as he had done to her friends years before.

To add insult to injury, the Grand Inquisitor returns and reveals that he survived Revea’s attempt on his life. The Grand Inquisitor reclaims his badge of office and tells Reva that they will leave her where they found her: In the gutter. After Vader and the Empire depart, Reva discovers that Haja dropped the message from Bail Organa, which reveals to her that Anakin had children, including his son, Luke, who is back on Tatooine.
