Yesterday, word got out that Twisted Metal executive producer Will Arnett was voicing Sweet Tooth in Peacock’s upcoming TV adaptation of the hit PlayStation games. Since Arnett lacks the build to physically embody the character onscreen, it was only a matter of time before the show cast an actor to partake in the action firsthand while Arnett dubbed over his lines in post-production. Now, it looks like the series has finally found its man. Deadline reports that wrestler Samoa Joe will be the one to don Sweet Tooth’s iconic clown mask in Twisted Metal.
Samoa Joe began his professional wrestling career in the early 2000s. Over the years, he has performed with just about every major promotion, including ROH, WWE, TNA, and most recently, AEW. During his time at WWE, Joe lent his voice and likeness to several installments of their 2K video game series. He is also voicing King Shark in Rocksteady’s Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which hits stores next year.
This isn’t the only new bit of Twisted Metal casting to emerge today. The series (via Deadline) has also recruited former Mayans M.C. star Richard Cabral to play the overprotective brother of Stephanie Beatriz’s Quiet. Fittingly enough, Cabral’s character’s name is Loud. Additionally, Mike Mitchell (The Tomorrow War) and Tahj Vaughans (P-Valley) have signed on to play best friends Stu and Mike. They are “the Rosencrantz & Guildenstern of this world, and together often find themselves to be more followers than fighters.”

Finally, Lou Beatty Jr. has joined the series as Tommy, a “grizzled and weathered cartographer” who’s very familiar with the dangers present in the Wild Midwest. Anthony Mackie is headlining the show as John Doe, a delivery driver tasked with escorting a mysterious package across what’s left of the United States. Other cast members include Thomas Haden Church and Neve Campbell in supporting roles.
Peacock hasn’t announced a premiere date for Twisted Metal.
