Curious about the adventures of Captain Pike and company, but unsure if they merit a Paramount+ subscription? The powers that be surely know that some fans out there who mostly reject “nu-Trek” might go for a show that features the original Enterprise in an adventure-of-the-week format. So to attract any of those who might feel on the fence, they’ve made the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds premiere episode available online for free.
Via the Paramount+ YouTube channel, it’s in the player below. Set aside an hour and enjoy, if you have not yet.

In the premiere episode, Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) initially avoids returning to duty. He’s seen a vision of his future, and knows it involves severe radiation burns and a wheelchair. Likewise, Spock (Ethan Peck) is consumed with his upcoming engagement to T’Pring, a process we know will lead into the Original Series timeline. But when they’re colleague Number One (Rebecca Romijn) disappears during a First Contact mission, both will return to Enterprise to find and rescue her.
