It’s hard for a superhero to spring into action when he doesn’t even know that he’s a superhero. Regardless, Steven Grant is forced to improvise in Marvel’s latest look at its highly-anticipated Moon Knight series on Disney+. Ahead of the show’s debut next week, the studio has released a new clip that finds Oscar Isaac’s Steven Grant in a tense encounter with Ethan Hawke’s Arthur Harrow.
Battling a deranged cult leader and his goons sounds like a lot for a mild-mannered gift shop employee like Steven to handle…so it’s a good thing he isn’t alone here. The clip pairs him alongside May Calamawy’s Layla El-Faouly, who urges him to “summon the suit” before handing him a mysterious golden artifact for safekeeping. But since Steven is still oblivious to his double-life as the Fist of Khonshu, all they can do is make a daring escape.

It certainly helps that Layla is a skilled fighter, but it’s not enough to stop Harrow from summoning…something. Before Steven and Layla are in the clear, Harrow taps his cane to the floor, bathing it in a purple light as he recites an incantation and creates an opening for an otherworldly creature. Unfortunately, the clip cuts to black before we can see who (or what) it belongs to.
Moon Knight will premiere on Disney+ on March 30.
