The Book of Boba Fett Episode 1 – What Did You Think?!

Warning: There are spoilers ahead for the first episode of The Book of Boba Fett!

A year ago, The Mandalorian season 2 finale set up the next stage of Boba Fett’s life when he seized control of Jabba’s criminal empire. And his time is now. The first episode of The Book of Boba Fett has debuted on Disney+, and we want to know what the Superhero Hype community thinks about it! This post is a place for all of you to leave your own reviews, thoughts, or anything else you want to say about The Book of Boba Fett episode 1.

In the present, Boba is in a bacta tank while he dreams about his time on Kamino and the death of his father, Jango Fett. Shortly thereafter, we finally see how Boba escaped from the Sarlacc Pit after Return of the Jedi. However, the ordeal leaves Boba so weak that Jawas easily steal his armor and leave him for dead. The Tusken Raiders find Boba a few hours later. They force him to march to their village, and then allow their children to beat him. At night, Boba attempts to escape, but a Rodian prisoner alerts their captors. A lone Tusken knocks the Hell out of Boba as the other tribe members watch.

Back in Jabba’s palace, Fennec Shand awakens her boss so Boba can receive tribute from the other crime lords. However, the only one that makes a real impression is the emissary of Mos Espa’s mayor. He expects Boba to pay the mayor, but he is only given the “gift” of leaving with his life. Boba is also offered the chance to execute two Gamorrean guards who did not surrender after Bib Fortuna’s death. Instead, Boba offers them mercy if they serve him with the same loyalty.

Much to Fennec’s annoyance, Boba insists on walking to their next destination. A lot of familiar faces are in the casino run by Madame Garson, who makes sure that both Boba and Fennec receive a payment. Regardless, it may not be a coincidence that assassins target Boba and Fennec as soon as they leave. The Gamorrean guards come through for Boba, but he is badly injured. Boba tells Fennec to capture the remaining assassins alive…which she does. For at least one assassin. Meanwhile, the Gamorreans bring Boba back to the bacta tank as he slips into a dreamlike state.

In the past, a Tusken child marches Boba and the Rodian out into the desert to dig for water. Boba angrily chides the Rodian for ruining his escape attempt. But the Rodian doesn’t live to regret it after uncovering a vicious creature in the sand. The creature threatens the child as well, but Boba kills it himself and snaps his chains. Boba also accompanies the child back to his village, where the kid takes credit for the kill. Fortunately, the Tusken leader seems to know the truth, and he offers Boba some water in a conciliatory gesture.
