Paramount+ Debuts a New Trailer For the Halo Series

Cue the Gregorian chants and the iconic theme music. Paramount+ has dropped the first full trailer for the upcoming Halo series. And after well over a decade in development Hell, the iconic video game franchise is finally getting a proper live-action adaptation.

The trailer made its debut during The Game Awards, but it is a little short. There aren’t any glimpses of the alien Covenant, or some of Halo‘s more fantastical elements. However, there glimpses of the Spartan soldiers, as well as the legendary hero himself: Master Chief.

Halo takes place in the 26th century, with humanity stuck in a largely hopeless war with the Covenant. To turn the tide, Dr. Halsey (Natascha McElhone) created genetically engineered soldiers called Spartans. Master Chief, whose real designation is John-117 (Pablo Schreiber), is a Spartan commander whose reputation as a leader precedes him. Jen Tayler, a voice actress from the Halo video games, is reprising her role as Cortana, Master Chief’s loyal A.I. companion.

Shabana Azmi also stars in the series alongside Natasha Culzac, Olive Gray, Yerin Ha, Bentley Kalu, Kate Kennedy, Charlie Murphy, Danny Sapani, and Bokeem Woodbine.

Halo will premiere on Paramount+ in early 2022.
