The story will take place concurrently with The Mandalorian. In addition to new characters, the series will bring back some familiar faces, including, perhaps, Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker.

“I thought of this adventure for Ahsoka for a long time, and it’s interesting to see how it’s evolved,” added Filoni. “Years ago, I never would have imagined that it was sprung from a branch of a tree that had anything to do with a guy [like] Din Djarin, or a child that looks like Yoda.” He credits Favreau for helping to add “dimension and depth.”

Star Wars: Ahsoka doesn’t currently have an official release date.
