Producers Say Boba will “Turn Barbarian Mode” in The Book Of Boba Fett

If you believe you already know everything about Boba Fett, you might be wrong. The upcoming The Book of Boba Fett series will unveil never-seen-before sides of the charismatic bounty hunter. Actually, he will likely leave that job behind to become the ruler of the Tatooine criminal underworld, which is looking for a new leader after Jabba the Hutt’s death.

“There is a power vacuum because Jabba is gone,” said producer Jon Favreau while talking with Empire. “Jabba was clearly a very strong and imposing leader, who people were very scared of, and who seemed to rule with an iron fist. You pull somebody like that out of the ecosystem of Tatooine – and Hutt Space in general – and you have the opportunity that’s ripe in the gangster genre.”

Boba’s situation is a new one for the veteran antihero. But his position now requires him to earn as much respect as he can from his associates. It seems that he won’t shy away from using any means, even the cruelest ones, to keep the power.

“We’ll see a lot more of his true character in this season,” added producer-director Robert Rodriguez. “And you’ll definitely see him have to turn ‘barbarian mode’.”

The Book of Boba Fett will premiere on Disney+ on December 29.
