The War Has Just Begun in New Trailer for The Witcher Season 2

December is approaching, and Netflix has treated the fans with a new trailer for The Witcher season 2. The video debuted at Italy’s Lucca Comics & Games, featuring plenty of fresh footage from the upcoming sophomore season. Its story will pick in the Battle of Sodden Hill aftermath, unveiling what happened to Geralt of Rivia, Ciri, Yennefer, and the remaining main protagonists. The hero hasn’t quit his main job of hunting down monsters, and it appears that he will have a lot on his plate coming next. On top of that, he is also mentoring Ciri to develop her immense powers fully.

In the meantime, Yennefer has been captured by the Nilfgardiaan army, and she has to do whatever it takes to survive. The war between the Niflgardiann empire and the rest of the Continent has only begun, and promises to be merciless.

Fans also got a closer look at some of the monsters that will lock horns with Geralt. The new trailer features a leshen and an ekimma, among other fantastic beasts. The upcoming eight-episode season promises to explore the world created by Andrzej Sapkowski even more, introducing new races, presenting their customs and traditions, and much more. From the looks of it, the new season promises to be less intricate than the slightly overcomplicated freshman one.

The Witcher season 2 will hit Netflix on December 17. In the meantime, you can check out new key art here below. There is also a batch of new promotional photos from the upcoming episodes in the gallery below that.
