HBO Max Debuts Trailer for Aquaman: King of Atlantis, Sets Release Date

Starting Oct. 14, DC fans will see plenty more of Aquamanas the new Aquaman: King of Atlantis animated miniseries will hit HBO Max and Cartoon Network. For the occasion, the streaming platform has debuted the official trailer for the project, executive produced by Aquaman director James Wan. In addition to the series’ peculiar animation style, the video introduces the titular hero, his underwater world, and companions. It seems that Vulko and Mera will join their long-time friend, Arthur Curry, in his latest adventures, while Ocean Master will be there to give his half-brother some hard times. The producers have yet to announce when the remaining parts of the series will debut.

The official synopsis for King of Atlantis reads:

“The three-part animated mini-series event begins with Aquaman’s first day on the job as king of Atlantis and he’s got a LOT of catching up to do. Luckily, he has his two royal advisors to back him up – Vulko, the scholar, and Mera, the water-controlling warrior-princess. Between dealing with unscrupulous surface dwellers, elder evils from beyond time and his own half-brother who wants to overthrow him, Aquaman is going to have to rise to the challenge and prove to his subjects, and to himself, that he’s the right man for the trident!”

DC FanDome is expected to reveal more details about the series.
