T’Challa Stands Tall in the Latest Poster for Marvel’s What If…?

Disney+ subscribers won’t have to wait much longer to watch Chadwick Boseman’s final performance as T’Challa in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In this week’s new episode of What If…?, the Watcher will bring viewers to an alternate reality where the man who would be Black Panther took on the mantle of a completely different superhero. And ahead of its premiere, Marvel Studios has released a new poster where Boseman’s take on Star-Lord stands front and center. Check it out for yourself below.

The series’ next episode will show fans what would happen if Yondu’s Ravagers abducted T’Challa from Earth instead of Peter Quill, thereby setting a chain of events in motion that turned the heir to Wakanda’s throne into a cosmic outlaw. Throughout his upcoming adventure, T’Challa will also interact with other Guardians of the Galaxy staples, including Drax. However, we already know that Guardians actor Dave Bautista isn’t returning to provide his character’s voice.

Luckily, T’Challa’s MCU exit is still a few weeks away. Executive producer Brad Winderbaum previously shared that Boseman appears in four episodes of What If…?’s first season. Additionally, Winderbaum confirmed that Boseman lent his voice to four different versions of T’Challa before his death last summer. The nature of the non-Star-Lord incarnations of his character remain a mystery for now. Regardless, it seems likely that Boseman’s final episode will give him the proper send-off he deserves.

The next episode of What If…? Premieres this Wednesday, August 18 on Disney+.
