Luis Guzmán Cast As Gomez Addams In Netflix’s Wednesday
Back in May, actress Jenna Ortega signed on to headline Netflix’s Wednesday as The Addams Family‘s oldest daughter. And while Wednesday Addams will be in college, it doesn’t mean that the family patriarch won’t show up.
Via Collider, Luis Guzmán has been cast as Wednesday’s father, Gomez Addams. Guzmán’s previous credits include Traffic, Code Black, and How To Make It In America. He has also appeared in Boogie Nights, Magnolia, Punch-Drunk Love, and numerous other films.
Within The Addams Family TV series, John Astin was the first actor to play Gomez Addams. Raul Julia also played Gomez in two Addams Family films, while Tim Curry took over the role for a direct-to-video sequel. More recently, Oscar Isaac also provided Gomez’s voice in the animated Addams Family reboot.

In the new series, Wednesday is a student at Nevermore Academy. She also has to deal with her “emerging psychic ability” as she is swept up into a supernatural murder mystery that entangled her parents 25 years earlier.
MGM Television and Netflix are co-producing the Wednesday series. The initial season will run eight episodes.
