Loki Episode 6 – What Did You Think?!

Warning: There are spoilers ahead for Loki episode 6!

Well, it wasn’t another Loki at the end of time. And for once, the rumors turned out to be true. Disney+ has premiered the sixth episode of Loki, and we want to know what the Superhero Hype community thinks about it!

After Loki and Sylvie arrive at the Citadel, Miss Minutes appears and makes them a proposition. To Loki, she offers a timeline in which he defeated the Avengers at the Battle of New York. She also offers Sylvie a lifetime of happiness, with Loki even. However, Sylvie and Loki reject the deal as fiction. Back at the TVA, Ravonna Renslayer gets a new file from Miss Minutes shortly before Mobius returns. Although Mobius tries to prune Ravonna, she easily overpowers him. But she declines to prune or kill him. Instead, Ravonna flees into the timeline in search of “free will.”

Back at the Citadel, Loki and Sylvie encounter the man behind the curtain. In the comics, his name is Immortus, but the show calls him He Who Remains. While the duo tries to kill him, Immortus demonstrates that their efforts are futile. With no other option available, they accompany him to his office.

The man explains how and why he came to inhabit the Citadel at the end of time. Using visual aids, he says that one of his variants came from Earth in the 31st century. He then discovered the multiverse and made contact with his alternate selves. They formed a council and worked together, before falling out and starting a multiversal war. He also said that his variants nearly wiped away all of existence in their battle for supremacy. That’s why this version has eliminated his alternates and invented the TVA to keep only a single timeline intact.

Finally, He Who Remains offers Loki and Sylvie a choice. They can either take his place and continue to run the TVA. Or they can kill him and unleash his evil alternates on the multiverse. Sylvie makes her choice immediately and goes to kill him. However, Loki stops her and tries to reason with her. Loki also convinces Sylvie that he cares for her, and they kiss. But she then sends Loki back to the TVA and goes through with her threat to kill He Who Remains.

At the TVA, Mobius and Hunter B-15 watch in horror as the multiverse branches quickly grow uncontrollably. Loki rushes in and tries to warn them about He Who Remains’ evil variants. But it’s too late. Things have already been changed, and neither Mobius nor B-15 know who Loki is. And to Loki’s horror, the statues of the Time Keepers have been replaced by statues of He Who Remains’ deadliest counterpart: Kang the Conqueror.

Yeah, that’s gonna be a Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, and the Wasp problem. Regardless, the announcement of Loki season 2 means that we will see the fallout on this show as well.

All six episodes of Loki season 1 are streaming on Disney+.
