Following last week’s season premiere, Rick and Morty are setting their sights a little bit higher than Mr. Nimbus. Regardless of Rick’s humiliating defeat at the hands of Mr. Nimbus, the titular duo are going after God himself. Adult Swim has released the cold opening from the second episode of episode 5, and the titular duo really do have plans to take out the Almighty. However, someone else may have plans of their own…

Additionally, Oni Press is releasing a Rick and Morty: Mr. Nimbus #1 one-shot comic book on Wednesday, September 22. Alex Firer and artist Ryan Lee will be the creative team for the issue that explores the origin of Rick’s nemesis. Here’s the official synopsis from Oni Press.
“Straight out of the Rick and Morty Season Five premiere comes Mr. Nimbus! The origins of Rick’s mightiest foe are revealed in this very special issue of Rick and Morty Presents. Love, war, fish, and friendship undergo the battering sea of time and tide.”
Rick and Morty season 5 episode 2 will premiere on Adult Swim this Sunday, June 27.
