The Boys Reveals Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy In a Comic Book Cover

One of the most high profile additions to the cast of The Boys season 3 is Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy, the world’s first superhero. Ackles has been teasing his role on the series for weeks by posting several behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram. Most of those pics show him sporting a scruffy beard. But it looks like we might be getting at least one flashback to the character’s fresh-faced glory days as a soldier in World War II.

Earlier today, the “official” Vought International Twitter account teased Ackles’ appearance in the new season with a comic book cover that shows Soldier Boy in action. Check it out for yourself below.

His costume design is a pretty significant departure from how the character looked in Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s original series. Regardless, the TV show’s producers are already taking liberties with his backstory by making him a WWII veteran, so there’s a chance that his look will change over time. Plus, The Boys’ last two seasons have been rife with MCU and DCEU parodies. So a send-up of Captain America: The First Avenger probably isn’t outside the realm of possibility.

Amazon hasn’t announced a premiere date for The Boys season 3.
