The CW Announces Its Fall 2021 Season Lineup

Big changes are coming to The CW’s landscape later this year. Via The Hollywood Reporter, the network announced the full schedule for its fall 2021 TV season. The updated lineup has two of the Arrowverse’s breakout hits switching up their timeslots. Plus, the announcement revealed which shows are being saved for midseason.

The Flash will stick with its current 8pm slot on Tuesdays when its eighth season premieres in November. But instead of having Superman and Lois air immediately afterwards, the network is giving the evening’s 9pm slot to Riverdale, which will begin airing its sixth season this fall. CW chairman and CEO Mark Pedowitz has also said that the first five episodes of The Flash season 8 will air as a “crossover-type” event. He also confirmed that we can expect appearances by other Arrowverse heroes in these episodes. However, we shouldn’t expect the second season of Superman and Lois until early 2022.

Meanwhile, Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman are both moving from Sunday nights to Wednesdays at 8pm and 9pm, respectively. Additionally, The CW is planning to give Beebo, the sentient plush toy from Legends, an animated Christmas special this year. It’s called Beebo Saves Christmas, with Ben Diskin returning to voice the title character. Victor Garber, who played Professor Martin Stein throughout the Arrowverse until 2017, is also coming back to narrate Beebo’s yuletide adventure.
