Darkness Falls In the New Castlevania Season 4 Trailer

The nation of Wallachia is about to face its greatest test to date in the final season of Castlevania. Netflix has released the first full trailer for Castlevania season 4, which brings Trevor Belmont (Richard Armitage) and Sypha Belnades (Alejandra Reynoso) back to the spot where it all began. Dracula (Graham McTavish) swore revenge on humanity for killing his wife. And regardless of his own demise, Dracula may soon be able to fulfil that promise.

In the new trailer, Trevor and Sypha stumble upon an abortive attempt to bring Dracula back from the dead. This shouldn’t be too shocking to fans of the Castlevania video games or any Dracula movie. He always comes back. However, Dracula is far from the only threat on the horizon.

Carmilla (Jaime Murray) took advantage of Dracula’s death to amass a great deal of power for herself. Now, she’s got the devil forgemaster, Hector (Theo James), creating night creatures for her. With this undead army, there’s very little Carmilla can’t do. And she’s looking to turn the entire world into her playground.

The final lingering threat is Isaac (Adetokumboh M’Cormack), another devil forgemaster. While Isaac wants to avenge Dracula’s betrayal, he’s also gained a taste for conquest. And unlike Carmilla, Isaac can instantly turn his victims into his new army.

Dracula’s dhampir son, Alucard (James Callis), may be the wild card of the season. He was aligned with Trevor and Sypha against Dracula in the first two seasons. However, Alucard was betrayed by Taka and Sumi, a pair of vampire hunters whom he had grown fond of. Their actions may have closed off Alucard’s heart, but he’s not done fighting yet.

Castlevania season 4 will hit Netflix on Thursday, May 13. You can watch the new trailer below.
