Julia Louis-Dreyfus Reveals the Cloak That Kept Her Marvel Role a Secret

A few hours ago, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier wrapped up. Along the way, the second installment in Phase 4 debuted a few big Marvel Cinematic Universe newcomers, including Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. The character portrayed by Julia Louis-Dreyfus made her debut in episode 5 when she invited John Walker to join her in what are still some unclear, probably evil plans. After Marvel Studios released the sixth — and last, for now — episode of the series, the actress took to her socials to share a video of how the producers kept her role confidential

“They snuck me onto set every day in this stunning hooded cloak,” she said. “I have worn it every day since. Obviously.”

You can watch it here below.

While the show introduced the Contessa, fans will have to wait for more to fully know the how and why of her. Besides recruiting Walker and giving him the name of US Agent, the enigmatic character didn’t reveal much. Perhaps the upcoming Marvel Studios: Assembled – The Making of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier that will debut on April 30, will offer more information. However, it seems likely that Marvel will trickle the details about her in the next MCU installments.

All six episodes of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier are on Disney+.
