Jeremy Renner Announces the End of Filming on Marvel’s Hawkeye Series

Marvel’s next live-action TV show is officially in the can. Jeremy Renner recently took to social media to share that today was the last day of filming on Disney+’s upcoming Hawkeye series.

In his first post on Instagram, Renner used the opportunity to thank the series’ cast and crew, including stuntwoman Heidi Moneymaker, who has previously worked on several other Marvel Studios productions. Moneymaker has also been Scarlett Johnannson’s stunt double in virtually every MCU movie dating back to Iron Man 2. Additionally, Renner shared another behind-the-scenes photo of himself after sitting in the makeup chair before a scene. Whatever was about to happen, it definitely looks like the show will be testing Clint Barton’s physical limits. You can check out both of Renner’s posts below.

Hawkeye finally began shooting in New York back in December. The series will mark the small-screen debut of Clint’s protégé, Kate Bishop, as played by Hailee Steinfeld. Kate is expected to take over for Clint as the new Hawkeye at some point. Regardless, it doesn’t sound like Renner is leaving the Marvel Universe behind just yet. As he remarked in his second post, “This is not goodbye, but a see you soon.” So the series may not be his MCU swan song after all.

The show appears to be drawing most of its inspiration from Matt Fraction and David Aja’s Hawkeye comic book series, as evidenced by the series’ logo and the inclusion of Lucky the Pizza Dog, whose appearance was leaked in set photos that made the rounds late last year. Jonathan Igla serves as Hawkeye’s head writer. The cast also includes Vera Farmiga, Fra Free, Tony Dalton, and Zahn McClarnon. Florence Pugh will reprise her Black Widow role as Yelena Belova, while Alaqua Cox will co-star as Maya Lopez/Echo.

Hawkeye will premiere on Disney+ sometime later this year.
