Few actresses can match the geek cred of Emilia Clarke, thanks to her starring roles in Game of Thrones, Solo: A Star Wars Story, and Terminator Genisys. Now, Clarke may soon add the MCU to her ever-growing list of credits.
Variety is reporting that Clarke is in final talks to join the cast of Marvel Studios’ Secret Invasion series on Disney+. However, details about Clarke’s potential role remain under wraps. But if we were to hazard a guess, she seems like a great fit for Queen Veranke of the Skrulls.
Secret Invasion builds out of the events of Captain Marvel, as the alien Skrulls infiltrate all walks of life on Earth. Samuel L. Jackson will headline the series as Nick Fury. Jackson’s Captain Marvel co-star, Ben Mendelsohn, will also reprise his role as Talos.

The post-credits scene of Spider-Man: Far From Home also set the stage for this series. When last seen, Fury was revealed to be on a Skrull ship in outer space. Meanwhile, Talos was filling in for Fury back on Earth.
Earlier this week, Oscar-winning actress Olivia Colman was also reported to be in negotiations for the series. Additionally, Kingsley Ben-Adir is playing a villainous role on the show.
Disney+ hasn’t set a date for Secret Invasion, but a late 2022 or 2023 release seem likely.
